Leia: "I though you had decided to stay..."
Kyle Katarn, after the "Dark Forces" conflict, has gotten no more jobs from the Rebellion. To make ends meet, he begins to take over dubious bounty-hunting jobs. He receives a message from his former rival Jabba the Hutt who called up all known bounty-hunters to capture Han Solo for him. Kyle accepts the job, as he hopes to make peace with his old enemy. The traces for Solo lead him to a smuggler base near Ord Mantell, the "Vanguard". Little does Katarn know what Jabba's got REALLY on his mind... This level requires 16 MB RAM. It also contains a briefing and an optional
cutscene package. | ||

Special Edition |

![]() |
Well, at last, the Special Edition
is released! The Special Edition project has been planned by me since the very
release of The Bounty Hunt, as I experienced the loading bug.Well, and I have
given it 2 enthusiastic tries. But I finally had to admit that the loading bug
(the main reason for a SE) was stronger than me... Until, I received a mail from Adam Burnett who since long seeked to distinguish the loading bug. He finally corrected it and the BHSE was ready for release. So I made some minor corrections yet, and it's been released. So it is Adam whom you have to thank for the release of BHSE. Then I have to warn ye that BH SE had to lose some of its ambience. The bug has been caused by some objects in the Market. Adam had to remove most of them, so that the market seems almost empty. Now to the changes:
Besides, Bounty Hunt Special Edition does not replace your Bounty Hunt Classic files. And it also uses the optional cutscene flawlessly.
Bounty Hunt Classic warning! An unknown internal error makes the level hang up right after loading. This error results of extraordinary conditions under which I created it (on a defect 486 with only 8 MB RAM!). Here are some tips how to avoid this problem:

Kyle Katarn, during being on a space platform, is woken up by a sudden alert. While he was sleeping, an Imprerial Star Destroyer Chimaera, with Admiral Thrawn in charge, has attacked the platform. An advance troop already docked and is trying to infiltrate it. The station defences are down, the ships are trapped in the magnetic fields raised by the intruders. Kyle has to go on and lead the counterattack to rescue the platform. But he must hurry up: the next assault transports are already marching on and the time ticks away... The level requires 16 MB RAM. Pretty normal these days... Main features:

A level by Vladimir Klassen

The Morning Wood is a Corellian Transport of the equal class like Millennium Falcon. The Rebels have discovered that some mysterious new technology is stored on the ship. It has landed on the planet Cel-Sati, near a dreaded Imperial Base. Your mission is to find and hijack the Morning Wood. This mini level for DF is made by Vladimir Klassen. It may be small but it still features many original INF solutions and great ideas. There are lots of very funny gags to keep you in a good mood. The level's name is actually a name of a MTV's Beavis & Butt-Head episode. There is also a hidden Butt-Head in this level. Find him... huh..huh. The cheat messages are also quotes from Beavis & Butt-Head.

"Assassinate Darth Vader" is a level by Jereth Kok

"Assassinate Darth Vader" is an excellent Dark Forces level by
Jereth Kok, which has been
released in the summer of 1996. To the one year anniversary of Kilvader, I have
released a set of cutscenes for this level. The cutscene feature a changed
textcrawl, an arrival cutscene and a final cutscene. As a step forward compared
to the BH cutscenes, Kilvader cutscenes contain not only self-rendered materials
as well as re-combined X-Wing, TIE Fighter & DF elements, but also feature
custom music. | ||
